Scholarship Funds & Application

Each year the Missouri United Methodist Foundation offers scholarship awards through several college scholarship funds. Primary awards are offered through the Clint and Marge Hawkins Memorial Christian Education Fund for Youth in amounts up to $1,000 each; and the Judge Leah B. McCartney Scholarship Fund with awards of up to $2,000 each. Awards from other funds vary year to year, but usually are in amounts of up to $1,000 each.  Only one scholarship may be awarded to any single applicant for the academic year.  Students may reapply for subsequent years.

In order to be considered for these scholarships, all application materials must be postmarked by April 1st; no exceptions to the deadline will be allowed.

Dollars for Scholars

College and seminary students from United Methodist churches in Missouri now have the opportunity for up to $4,000 in scholarships through the Dollars for Scholars program administered by the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF).

Missouri students selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from their local churches, who will be attending a United Methodist-related college or seminary are eligible to receive a matching $1,000 scholarship from the UMHEF.  If the student's college is participating in the Dollars for Scholars program, he or she may qualify for another $1,000 from the school.  If the school is Central Methodist University or Saint Paul School of Theology, the student is eligible to receive another $1,000 scholarship from the Missouri United Methodist Foundation.

More information and application instructions are available by visiting the UMHEF website.

Applications must be mailed to the UMHEF between January 1 and March 1 (or June 1 for students planning to enroll in a two-year college only).
